Due to its low tourist vocation, the island of Procida is one of the last characteristic places in the Mediterranean. The flat morphology and spontaneous architecture make the island of Procida like a natural set, which has hosted famous films such as "Il Postino", "The Talented Mr Ripley" and "Francesca and Nunziata". The most suggestive places are the Marina Chiaiolella (the tourist port), the ancient village of Terra Murata (the old part of the city), the fishing village of Marina Corricella. The latter is the oldest port in Procida, and can only be reached by stairs and passages through the houses. This has meant that the small port, currently inhabited by families of fishermen for generations, is exposed to the sun for many hours of the day which makes walks pleasant even during the winter and autumn. The cuisine of the many local restaurants based on local raw materials is very good. The Chiaiolella is the tourist port of the island, which has managed to retain its character of a fishing village. On one side the coast, towards the west, with numerous beaches and restaurants, from where you can see splendid sunsets. On the other the tourist port with the coming and going of boats during the summer season. Terra Murata, which is the historical center of Procida, is a village built to protect its citizens against the barbarian invasions at the beginning of the 16th century. Religious and cultural center is the Abbey of San Michele Arcangelo, a Benedictine foundation that dates back to the 11th century. Inside the abbey you can admire altars, paintings and statues while on the lower floors the ancient dungeons house an ossuary and a library with 8,000 books and ancient manuscripts. The internal areas of the island, less known because mainly inhabited by residents, are the Faro, the Cottimo and the Starza. Mainly countryside areas, anciently cultivated with vineyards. Via Vittorio Emanuele, which is the ancient road that from the port crosses the internal part of the island, joins Via Flavio Gioia, which from the heart of the island arrives at Piazza Olmo. On this ancient street there is Gioia 13 Residence , a house built in 1700 with ancient knowledge that is shared today by our guests. As good designers and architects, we have created small independent houses equipped with kitchenette, WIFI and all comforts. A strategic position to be able to reach on foot, in less than 5 minutes, the village of Corricella, the Chiaia beach, the Ciraccio beach. In the international atmosphere of our home, each guest can find a place to rest or meet and at the same time enjoy the places to share: a splendid solarium with a view of Capri and the Terra Murata, an outdoor kitchen for spaghetti on warm summer evenings, a terrace where you can enjoy a good book. The available accommodations are independent apartments, different in furnishings and layout of the spaces, which fully express the essence of the island that hosts them. Sun and shade for a rest from the sea, the Chiaia beach is only 300 meters away. Piazza Olmo, which is a stone's throw away, is a key hub on the island and is served by all bus lines.
